It's been awhile since im here, have been busy with labbie stuff. Every single evening feeling all drained out after a day's work in the lab. Well have to admit that i had learnt quite alot under the supervision of prof leong. Definitely a joy working with all of the grad students xept for.. ahem! hee yup those ard me will noe who is the person that made me dread and drag my feet to work every single dae!yep its her! okie she really can be a sore at times with all the naggings and squealings. But have learnt a few techniques here and there. my budding chem frens will noe...like TLC,ESI,IR...veri interesting techniques that are of use to honours yr!
Had a chat with prof leong today, and wow it was a total of 3hrs of endless chatting with him! gosh before me,ben, fang and ying even started getting fidgety it was 515 already!yep dat was how intersting prof leongs tok was!he told us his life story..and wow im i amazed about his humble begginings and all the sweat and blood he have gone thru to gain his position of associ prof. It is time of the year for all the honours students to choose their desired honours project. And here i am mind's in a whirlpool..not knowing which prof will wanna take me under their wings. Juz barely made it to a second lower cap point, really afraid that i will be thrown to the lower rungs woth unwanted projs! but dats life rite! its like going thru pri 4 streamings all over again. Well shall take wad the sch gives me then.
Last sat i went to MINDS at guillemard garden sch for social work session. it is a sch for the mentally disabled. Did not really know what to expect when i was on the way to the school, but when i stepped into the centre i was warmly welcomed with Hi-5s and "Hellos" by the kids themselves. Their overwhelming warmth made me comfortable even though its my first visit there! These kids possess so much determination in what they do, so much so that i was left with awe. I was attached to a little gal Seok Hian a very soft spoken girl with bounds of energy. She had just underwent a spinal operation and was engrossed in fixing a 500 pc jigsaw puzzle of toy story. Utterly impressed with her patience and determination she put into it. Later on went on with games that allows these kids to gain more social skills like clearing up the table and sweeping the floor...and later on with music and movement session where we did folk dance. Looking at their smiles really brightened my sat!
